Writing Prompt

Journal Entry: Sun Jan 24, 2010, 5:04 PM
So it seems like the latest writing prompt had you all stumped for inspiration this time! I just want to clarify a few rules where these prompts are concerned.  Please read the rules carefully, and see the bottom of the journal for the latest illustrative prompt!

Prompt Response of the Week by !wingman11

"I am the Everlasting.  Or, at least, that's the name I have given myself to keep my mind occupied.

I am a wanderer ever since it happened.
I've traveled to places I never thought I'd go to.
I've seen things I never expected to see.
I've done things no one should have to do.

I've sheltered myself in the most obscure places and the most known places on this Earth.
I know only of where I've been, not where I'm going.
I blaze a new trail onward, one that nobody has ever taken.

Nor will anyone travel it again, most likely.

As far as I know, I'm the last human alive.  All the ones I have ever known either were killed during the storms or froze to death afterward.  This snow covered and barren plain is
unforgiving...

    unforgiving...

        unforgiving..."

Writing Prompt Rules

:bulletblue: You’ve got one week to write a response to the prompt and send it in. Any responses received afterwards will  not be featured unfortunately. If you submit your work, and you don’t get acceptance, please please please do note me to find out what’s going on. I don’t want you to miss out because of technical glitches!

:bulletblue: You must submit your response to our gallery folder  [link] and it will be reviewed and accepted by moderators.

:bulletblue: Please write the prompt in the comment box of your deviation...just so I know that you’ve understood to use it.

This weeks prompt is about perceptions and realities. And learning to put yourself in somebody elses shoes.

Write from the perspective of this shoe
And at the time of photographing this shoe, I was deeply inspired to create a small ode for its ‘lostness.’

“A day of sun and sand and sea,
of running on the beach,
of wheeling gulls and mystery,
and rock pools out of reach

A day of creating memories,
and polaroids (just a few!)
will never be quite the same,
since she lost her ugly shoe.”

We don’t do it often enough. Most of us, and I’m guilty of this aswell in the past, go through life with our eyes shut, never stopping to take note of the things around us. So go wild...

be the shoe....
feel the shoe....

you are... a shoe

:giggle:
Any questions? Note me! ^Kaz-D

Are we allowed to use the pic as a preview in our poetry? You know, add it to the deviation on top (sorry ^^; I totally forgot what you call it, I think you call it a preview)

Will, off course, give consent to the artist :D

Does it have to be poetry or prose, or is it just general literature?
This looks fun, I might just try it. =)
