Last Week's Writing Prompt

Write anything that features all of the following:
- 17 oranges
- love at first sight
- a significant mirror
- a famous quote of your choice

Admin's Choice:
The UnsaidShe tries to believe in love at first sight.
That someone could be as dazzled by her
as she was by them.
But you can't always get what you want.
Love had many faces.
But so did the devil.
And she had the tendency.
To dance with both.
It is said that evil is not born, but made.
But as he throws her to a world in which
she does not belong...
To become something she hated.
Cut her up with cracks in the mirror of her nightstand
and how he often forgot her.
She found it hard to agree.
He wanted to be her everything.
Be the shadow cast from her
on sunniest of days. Bathe her in gifts.
Tacky perfumes akin to 17 smashed oranges
and bathroom cleaner.
Overripe fruit and runny chocolate.
The words of a great one tell the tale; the reasons why.
“A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks, he becomes”
And it consumed and ate at him until it took its toll.
But he gave what he gave for her.
Simply.
Because he loved her.
And not a thing else mattered.
This is Just Silly
The party, quite frankly, is crazy. I'd try to tell you how crazy it is, but words fail me. Stupendously crazy? Fantastically crazy? Just plain crazy? All of the crazy, put together in a blender? I just don't know.
Joe has just finished his masterpiece: Spock, making the 'shocker' sign with his hand, drawn in Magic Marker on your dining room table. Part of you wants to get rid of it; the other quite admires the skill of which the 'Spocker' was drawn.
Me? I'm a little off to the side, in the kitchen. Henry's making noodles in my cutlery drawer, and doing surprisingly well, for the implements he has at hand. I'm juggling; fruit, as a matter of fact. Apples and banannas, end over end, forming a wonderful half-oval of colour. This distracts Henry, and he almost spills boiling water on my dog. Who, as it happens, is running around the house with a party hat, adoring the attention she's getting from absolutely everyone. Well, those of us who can still move. Alex can't, I know that much. The Love Spell“How am I meant to marry my soul mate if I can’t find him?”  Maggie grumbled.  She was thinking about the fortune she had been given at the country fair a week ago.
“You can’t force it.”  Her friend Jody smiled sympathetically.  “It will happen when you least expect it.”
“Pity you couldn’t just cast a magic spell on someone.”  Janice giggled.  “Mind you, if magic was possible, I’d change my fella to look like Brad Pitt!”
The three girls laughed but it had given Maggie an idea.  On the way home, she called in at the greengrocers and to his surprise, bought all seventeen of his remaining oranges.

“Let’s see, love…lovers…ah, here it is.”  Maggie turned to a spell and read it carefully.  “I need to peel the orange and throw the peel over my left shoulder and it must be done at sunset.  The skin will fall in the shape

This week's writing prompt, from April 3 to April 14, is:

Zero

Thank you to everyone who submitted! I deeply enjoyed reading the entries this week, they were very creative.

Looking through everyone's responses to my previous question, I think it's safe to say we can alternate between the one-word and the special-type prompt each week. The art and music prompts are henceforth discarded.
